Russell Cooke Bedford Row Holborn

About Katie

My role is to help people navigate what can be one of the most difficult times of their lives. I understand both the emotional and legal issues involved when a relationship breaks down and use my professional skills with my considerate but determined approach to get matters resolved in the best way possible.

Katie specialises in both complex High Net Worth (HNW)  financial and children cases, often where there are overlapping issues and strategic considerations for her clients. Her specialist acumen is in cases involving international child relocation and concurrent financial cases.

Katie advises on all aspects of relationship breakdown including divorce, cohabitating/unmarried couples and advising on the associated financial claims. She specialises in the drafting of both pre and post nuptial agreements, particularly where there is an international dimension and regularly works collaboratively with lawyers from other jurisdictions and professional advisors.

Katie’s cases often feature a complex factual matrix, and she is known for her empathetic and strategic approach. Her clients range from HNW individuals, international entrepreneurs and families of inherited wealth.

Katie is a Resolution trained and Law Society accredited mediator for both financial and children issues. She is also trained and practices in the Resolution Together model, with one lawyer advising one couple.

Katie is a member of Resolution and also sits on the National Resolution Wellbeing Committee, supporting substantiable work practices across the sector. She is also the Wellbeing partner for Russell Cooke, driving awareness and best practice across every area of the firm.

Due to her expertise, Katie is often asked to speak at legal and non-legal events. She has spoken at the TL4 HNW flagship conference on Non Court Dispute Resolution, highlighting her particular focus and expertise in this area. She has provided legal commentary for the Financial Times and other legal publications.

Katie is ranked in Chambers HNW 2025 (Band 5 for Family/Matrimonial Finance: High Net Worth - UK-wide) as well as a Recommended Lawyer in The Legal 500 2026.

She is incredibly knowledgeable and strategic but also very human in the way she dealt with our matters. She understands the family court system intrinsically and applies common sense to situations.
