About Lauren

I take a calm, clear and constructive approach to resolving family disputes, with a particular focus on supporting clients through complex and emotionally challenging situations. I always look to preserve family relations through the creative use of out of court dispute resolutions. However, when this is not possible, I provide robust and experienced representation in court litigation.

Lauren is a partner in the family and children team. She is a specialist international child abduction solicitor. Lauren acts for applicants and respondents in Hague Convention and international wardship cases. Lauren frequently receives instructions from the International Child Abduction and Contact Unit, which only instructs a limited number of expert solicitors to act in High Court child abduction cases. 

Lauren acted in the successful Court of Appeal child abduction case Re B (Children) (Abduction: Consent: Oral Evidence) (Article 13(b) [2022] EWCA Civ 1171. Lauren successfully deals with leave to remove applications and has extensive experience acting for both the parent wishing to relocate and the parent wishing to remain.

In addition to her international children practice, Lauren has significant expertise in complex divorce and financial matters. She expertly conducts financial remedy cases ranging from high-net-worth matters involving substantial property portfolios, family businesses and international assets, to cases involving more modest resources. Her work regularly includes matters with expert valuation evidence, third-party intervenors and disputed beneficial interests.

Lauren is recognised for her strategic approach to financial cases, her meticulous grasp of detail and her ability to guide clients through challenging financial disclosure issues.  She is known for her practical, solutions-focused advice.

Lauren acts for parents and grandparents in disputes relating to where children should live and when children should spend time with their parents and grandparents. Lauren is especially skilled in handling high-conflict disputes.

Lauren was highly commended Family Lawyer of 2022 at the Surrey Law Society Legal awards. Lauren is an Accredited Resolution Specialist for her expert knowledge in complex financial remedies and child abduction. Lauren was a founding member of the Child Abduction Lawyers Association (CALA) and elected to sit on the executive committee. Lauren contributed to the Law Society’s Family Law Protocol on child abduction.

Lauren read law at the University of Leeds and qualified as a solicitor in 2008. Lauren previously practised at Russell-Cooke for a number of years before moving to lead the International Children practice as a partner at Osbornes Law. She rejoined Russell-Cooke in 2025.
