Trading standards and consumer law defence

We provide expert legal advice and representation to defendants in relation to all aspects of criminal consumer and trade mark law.

We have experience defending individuals in relation to trade mark offences and offences under the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988.

Members of the team hold rights of audience in the Higher Courts and can represent clients before all courts in England and Wales. This means that in many cases we don't need to instruct barristers which simplifies the process and reduces costs.

Our work covers:

  • trade description defence work
  • trade mark and copyright theft
  • product safety
  • environmental law
  • health and safety
  • under age sales (knives/bladed articles and alcohol)
  • ticket touting

Our approach

We offer practical, cost-effective, high-quality advice to our clients, drawing on over 25 years experience in criminal defence. We can advise clients from the earliest stages of a matter, before charges have been brought, through to substantive Court proceedings.

Charging information

Charges are usually based on our hourly rates plus administrative charges and disbursements. We will provide you with an initial estimate of your likely legal costs and will update this as your requirements or the circumstances of the work change.

We would be pleased to discuss your requirements and produce a costs estimate accordingly based on the type and complexity of the work involved.
