Francesca Kaye, partner in the litigation team, will be speaking at the London Solicitors Litigation Association (LSLA) and Justice Panel Debate on 20 March.

The debate, chaired by Baroness Shami Chakrabarti, with closing remarks from the Right Honourable Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury (President of the Supreme Court), will consider diversity in the senior judiciary and in the Courts of England and Wales.

In the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court there are only two judges who are from non-white ethnic minority groups, and only 30 of these judges are women. Women and BAME people are also underrepresented on the Circuit.

Francesca joins a prestigious panel of speakers to discuss the opportunities and challenges for reflecting greater diversity at the bench, strengths and recent achievements of the judiciary and the future of judicial diversity in light of recent political, social and legal changes including the result of Brexit.

In 2012, Francesca was elected as the first female president of the LSLA. She served a two-year term in office, leading one of the country’s key representative groups for litigation lawyers. She is a Deputy District Judge and a Deputy Chancery Master and has experience across a broad spectrum of commercial/chancery litigation.
