Russell-Cooke advises on significant Family Court decision on delay in care proceedings
Russell-Cooke-instructed counsel, Anna Lavelle, represented M's paternal grandmother in Re Q & M (Care Proceedings: Unconscionable Delay) [2026] EWFC 292, a case concerning the future care arrangements of two children following significant delays in proceedings.
In its judgment, the Family Court made care and placement orders for M and a final care order for Q, while delivering strong criticism of the prolonged proceedings and the impact of delay on the children's welfare.
