Russell-Cooke has been named as the National Legal Partner for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards' 2021 programme. Applications for the awards close on 11 June 2021.

Great British Entrepreneur Awards (GBEA) was founded in 2013 to acknowledge the hard work and inspiring stories of entrepreneurs and businesses in the United Kingdom. GBEA also provides networking opportunities through events and offers information and advice to entrepreneurs on business growth, marketing, health and wellbeing, and social values through its Lightbulb Sessions video series.

Russell-Cooke will be fielding two judges; Guy Wilmot who is head of the startups team and Jonathan Thornton who is head of the corporate and commercial team. The firm will work with GBEA on a number of webinars and round tables across the year of the partnership, which runs from 19 May 2021 for one year.

The corporate and commercial team at Russell-Cooke has helped numerous startups and entrepreneurs. They have advised businesses in sectors as diverse as hospitality, e-commerce, software, tech, automotive, distribution, recruitment, fast moving consumer goods, property, advertising and marketing, communications and media.

Francesca James, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, said: “I’m delighted to welcome the team at Russell-Cooke to the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. We share the same values in supporting and championing entrepreneurs to do what they do best. We’re thrilled to be working with a law firm that is so revered by others in the industry and look forward to the coming year as we work towards our common goal of celebrating entrepreneurs and businesses.”

Russell-Cooke partner Guy Wilmot added: What impressed us about The Great British Entrepreneur Awards is that they are focused on the stories behind the businesses and on the development of a genuine community. Here at Russell-Cooke we foster relationships that are more than transactional – our aim is to be advising our entrepreneur clients every step of the way and being part of the eco-system. Only by really understanding what motivates entrepreneurs and how they work can we help them most effectively to build their businesses. We are excited to be partnering with the GBEA and look forward to being involved in the energy and dynamism they have created.”

Winners of the 2021 awards will be announced on 1 July 2021.
