Warnings over risks associated with online sperm donor groups - ITV

"There are risks. There are risks with any sort of fertility treatment. But women will continue to do it [private arrangements], and they should be allowed to do it, but there needs to be greater protection, awareness and understanding."

Many would-be parents are increasingly turning to private arrangements when finding a sperm donor.

Senior associate Jade Quirke spoke with ITV.com about the legal risks that can arise. She notes that, along with a glaring lack of regulation, many parents and sperm donors are unaware of their rights when they enter into these arrangements which can become problematic down the line.
