Unlock diverse legal expertise through our training contract

It is our aim that your training will have a lasting influence over your legal career. Our training contract will ensure you gain practical experience of widely differing types of legal practice. There are very few law firms where, for instance, you can spend six months involved in a real estate transaction in the City, followed by six months of practising children law.

Seat options and career development at Russell-Cooke

Our trainees do four seats, and we are committed to you doing at least one contentious and one non-contentious seat. The availability of seats depends on the needs of different departments, there is no fixed flight path. Most recently trainees have undertaken seats in Family, Property Litigation, Charity & Social Business, Trust & Estate Disputes, Private Client, Real Estate and Construction, Corporate & Commercial, Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence, Professional Regulation and Dispute Resolution.

On average we take on 8-10 trainees per year with the majority of our intake in September. We currently have 18 in our trainee cohort. You will have a dedicated trainee supervisor in each seat and regular catch ups with our Graduate Recruitment Partner. You will have a mid-seat and end of seat review with your supervisor. As well as participating in department and firm events, the trainee cohort has a number of dedicated events and their own social budget!
