The Times has covered a recent case in which legal director Amy Chapman from our children law team was instructed to represent the child.

The couple concerned doctored a DNA test in an attempt to keep a baby born through a surrogate they met online after discovering the child was mixed race. Amy instructed Sharon Segal KC and Niamh Daly of 1GC Family Law to appear in the High Court.

This judgment should be read as a cautionary tale of what can go wrong when strangers who meet through social media to bring a child into this world through surrogacy and when one or more of the parties take risks around the circumstances of conception.
Ms Justice Ruth Henke

Our recent coverage of the case can be found here, and the full article from The Times here.
