Hardeep Nijher elected to STEP London Central Committee
Senior associate Hardeep Nijher has been elected to the STEP London Central Committee following a vote, with his role to be announced in due course.
STEP is the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, of which many of the lawyers at the firm are members and fully qualified TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioners), marking them out as experts in their field. Full membership is granted on passing a rigorous set of technical exams.
The STEP Cross-Border Estates Special Interest Group was original convened by private client consultant Richard Frimston, then chaired for 7 years by private client partner Andrew Godfrey. Private client partner Julie Man is currently a committee member. Additionally, trust and estate dispute partner Gareth Ledsham is currently co-deputy chair of the STEP Mental Capacity Special Interest Group.
STEP is a global professional body for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning. Its members include lawyers, accountants, trustees, and other professionals. STEP London Central, as a long-established branch, has in excess of 1,000 members and plays a vital role in the London trust and estates professional community.
I’m very much looking forward to this opportunity and continuing to represent Russell-Cooke as the firm’s first member on the STEP London Central branch committee, which plays a key role in guiding professionals in the trusts and estates field through education, policy influence, and professional leadership.
Hardeep Nijher is a senior associate in the private client team. He handles the full spectrum of private client work including drafting complex wills, advising on inheritance tax and succession planning and supporting on the administration of trusts.
