Senior associate Imogen Nolan has been quoted in both ePrivateClient and Today’s Family Lawyer commenting on the latest family court statistics. The figures show that divorce applications fell slightly between July and September 2025, down 7% on the same period in 2024, while overall family court cases rose by 2%. The rise in domestic violence protection orders was particularly notable, increasing by 13% over the same period. Imogen highlights what the statistics reveal about court efficiency and the ongoing need for couples to resolve financial matters.

The decrease in divorce applications alongside an increase in financial applications was a continuation of a longer-term trend and may indicate an increased awareness of the need for divorcing couples to resolve financial matters by way of a court order.
