Courts continuing to fail children as timelines remain unmet—Today’s Family Lawyer

Senior associate Jasmin Talai has been quoted in Today’s Family Lawyer and the Law Gazette commenting on the latest Ministry of Justice (MOJ) figures, which highlight ongoing challenges in the family courts, including delays in care proceedings and rising numbers of financial remedy applications.

The proportion of care proceedings not concluding within the statutory 26-week limit was still concerning. A 10% increase in the number of financial remedy applications was ‘troubling’ in light of recent guidance issued by the family judiciary on listing capacity.
