Russell-Cooke attends UKREiiF 2026
Now in its fifth year, UKREiiF has firmly established itself as a cornerstone event in the built environment calendar, growing significantly in both scale and influence. The Russell-Cooke team were delighted to be part of this dynamic forum, which brings together professionals from across the sector to share insights, build relationships and explore the future of the industry.
In this blog, attendees Ed Fairweather and Nerys Dadey (commercial property), Pippa Beesley and Kaitlin Wilson (construction) and Joanna Crow (planning) share their experiences and key takeaways from the event.
Themes and highlights
A key theme in conversations was sustainability, reflected in many people setting up consultancies in this space. Sustainability and environmental considerations are pervasive in the built environment but there was a sense of optimism at the event on this subject. As more people bring expertise into this space, there is an increase in the flow of ideas and shared understanding with people determined to find creative solutions.
Another key conversation centred on the Building Safety Act and the impact it has had on the construction sector - in particular, the significant delays in approvals by the Building Safety Regulator which have led to elongated pre-construction periods, repeat tendering and increased insolvencies.
The EPS Rooftop Social was a real highlight for the whole team, with an excellent mix of attendees, a great venue and refreshments. A live band featuring the EPS founder and his friends was a standout (quite literally getting the band back together!)
One of the standout moments from the conference was a haka performance in the conference square, delivered in support of mental health awareness. It brought a real sense of unity and reflection to the event, highlighting the importance of wellbeing within the wider corporate environment.
Nerys had the privilege of attending the ‘Diversity Pays’ panel hosted by Accession, a non-profit network focused on supporting young people with career development and providing mentorship across the property industry. The discussion was insightful, with panellists sharing perspectives on social mobility, inclusion, mentorship, and the tangible value that diverse talent brings to organisations. The connections made at the panel have also created the opportunity for Russell-Cooke to participate in future panels.
Looking ahead
UKREiiF remains an opportunity to:
- showcase the space we take up in our built environment, as a law firm with a reputable and growing real estate practice
- connect with contacts and clients and nurture existing relationships
- forge new relationships
- learn from others in our industry, which is varied and nuanced
Time to book the accommodation for 2027!
